Time for tea

A private corner in a garden in June. The geraniums and irises are out. The willow is bushy and the acer is providing some needed shade on those rare sunny days. The golden spirit smoke tree glows in the background with it's lime green leaves which will turn orange then red in the autumn.

Created by Lady Landscapers - a space to sit and drink tea with a friend.

A Privy Place

We have constructed this treebog in amongst a broadleaf woodland where access to any facilities is nil.

Wikipedia defines a treebog as, "a type of low-tech dry toilet. It is a hole in the ground (similar to a pit latrine), with any of a wide range of species planted around it. It can be considered an example of permaculture design, as it functions as a system of converting urine and faeces to biomass, without the need to handle excreta. The problem is the solution."

They key is to have willow trees around the loo as they are a heavy feeding tree and will gladly take what you give.

So, for those of you who have a large bit of land and would like a privy place of your own, or perhaps you have a small corner that you need a place to 'go', we would love to help you realize your privy dreams.

Old Faithful

Two weeks of gorgeous weather and a thunderstorm last night has done wonders for the grass. Our faithful strimmer has been handy in those hard to reach places as well as tall, neglected grass patches.

Jungle Bashing in Barmouth

We were given the task to clear away the ivy that had taken over the hedgerow and had covered the entire wall. After about an hour of careful pruning, we could see the dry stonewall border, half the retaining wall behind the hedgerow some unwanted ash trees and an assortment of non-herbaceous plants suppressed by the ivy but alive.
